IMPORTANT UPDATE:  We're introducing a small change to our phone line opening hours.  From the 2nd Feb 2026 our phone lines will be closing at 4pm rather than 5pm to allow staff to complete essential non-phone-based work.  If you need to reach us urgently after 4pm, you can do so by emailing insurance(at)csis.co.uk.  Please include 'URGENT' in the subject line and we will aim to call you back before the office closes at 5pm.

Welcome to all NARPO members

Annual Travel Insurance

NARPO Travel Insurance is a trading name of the Civil Service Insurance Society (CSIS), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Firm Reference No. 304151).

Designed specifically for NARPO Members, this annual travel insurance plan offers either a European or Worldwide option, with any single trip lasting up to 65 days (45 for Caribbean, USA or Canada if Worldwide cover selected). NARPO Travel Insurance provides true peace of mind to the frequent traveller.

To take advantage of this new arrangement, you must be a UK resident and a NARPO member aged between 50 and 79 at the time of joining (thereafter no upper age limit will apply). You must both be medically fit to travel and be able to comply with the Eligibility statement as defined in the policy.

For new members wishing to join the scheme from the 01.06.2026, please be aware that you can do so from the 01.06.2026 (or after this date).

ELIGIBILITY

For all cover sections excluding section 4, you must be medically fit to travel on the date of departure. However, for cover under section 4, ‘loss of deposit, cancellation and curtailment’ you must be medically fit to travel on the date of booking any trip, when making additional deposit payments and when paying the final balance of the trip.

Being medically fit means any existing medical conditions you have must be stable and controlled by any treatment you are receiving and/or medication you have been prescribed. There must be no known likelihood of any specialist or specific medical tests, investigations or variation of treatment or medication for any existing medical condition(s) on any of the above dates or whilst travelling.  You cannot be awaiting surgery for any diagnosed medical condition unless your medical practitioner has confirmed that you are medically fit to travel, and you are not exhibiting symptoms of an existing medical condition which could mean that your trip could be cancelled or cut short.  Cover is not suitable if you have been given a terminal prognosis, which is a life expectancy of below one year at the start date of the journey.

You will not be eligible for this policy if any insured member suffers from a chronic breathing condition such as:

  • Severe Allergic Asthma, Asthma with fixed airflow obstruction, Night-time (Nocturnal) Asthma
  • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Chronic Bronchitis
  • Cystic Fibrosis/Bronchiectasis
  • Emphysema
  • Lung Cancer
  • Lung Hernia
  • Pleural Effusion
  • Pneumonia

This is not an exhaustive list.

It is always advisable to consult a doctor if you have any doubts about your fitness to travel.

Common Renewal Date / Pro-Rata Premiums

This is an annual travel insurance membership scheme and has a common renewal date of 01st June. The scheme is competitively priced and is not intended to cover one off individual trips. Once you have joined the scheme you will be invited to automatically renew your policy on an annual basis at the full cost so that you can travel in the knowledge that you have cover in place for your trips throughout the year.

We are now offering pro-rate premiums to make the pricing fairer for those customers joining the scheme later in the year as they will not be benefiting from a full year of cover. Once joined, members cannot cancel and rejoin the scheme in the same year.

If you are looking to join the scheme as a new member from the 01.06.2026, please be aware that you can do so from 01.06.2026 (or after this date).

Please check the eligibility tab above to ensure you are eligible for this Travel Insurance Cover before getting a quote.
