Last week saw the hosting of the biennial CSSC games at Loughborough University, with over 1000 athletes from across the Civil Service taking part. The competitors travelled from all corners of the UK to compete in a wide spectrum of sports including archery, badminton, fencing and football.

CSSC was honoured to receive a visit from its patron HRH the Duchess of Gloucester on day 1 of the Games. The Duchess met with many of the volunteers, staff members as well as taking a trip around the campus to meet those taking part in the games, and to watch the action unfold.

CSIS was delighted to be the official sponsor of the Games, with this year’s event marking their 5th sponsorship in a row. Speaking at the event CSIS Chief Executive Kevin Holliday said “We are very proud to support such an inspirational event and can only admire the hard work and dedication of both the athletes and the volunteers who make the games such a special event. Our partnership with CSSC is very important, and being able to sponsor the Games helps CSIS to raise its profile in such a significant way.”

As part of its sponsorship CSIS also ran a prize draw open to volunteers and athletes alike. This was won by Felicita Adebiyi. Felicita was delighted with her prize and said she would spend it on some new home furnishings.

CSIS would like to congratulate everyone who made the Games such a success and look forward to seeing everyone at the CSSC Games in 2017!
